Today's reading will cover Ezekiel Chapters 18 and 24:1-6, 11-14, 2 Kings: 25:1-2, 2 Chronicles Chapter 36:11-13, and Jeremiah Chapter 52:1-5. Today we will read about God's promise to hold each person accountable for their own sins rather than children paying for their parents sins or receiving blessings based on the righteousness of parents. In our discussion for daily application we will look at Matthew Chapter 7:12-27, James Chapter 2:8, 14-26, and 2 Peter Chapter 2:15, 17, and 19-22. In Matthew Chapter 7 we will read about Jesus telling us that He will not recognize us when we come before Him if we have not been following God with our hearts and bearing fruit. Jesus tells us that we will be known by our fruit, and those who do not produce ANY fruit will be like dead branches, thrown into the fire. Salvation without changing our heart will not save us. God tells us today in Ezekiel 18 that those who do not behave righteously will still die for their sins. In 2 Peter 2 we will read that those who return to (or remain!) in sinful ways are like dogs who return to their vomit or a pig returning to the mud after being bathed. In James Chapter 2 we will read that faith without works is dead, like a body without a spirit. We do not earn our salvation but simply SAYING we believe in God and Jesus is insufficient. Even the demons believe in God and Jesus and they are not saved! To put it simply: talk is cheap. We need to behave like believers. God knows our hearts. Salvation is not a free license to continue sinning recklessly, claiming forgiveness once and for all with no need to change our lives. God tells us today in Ezekiel to "Get rid of your sin. Get a new heart. Get a new Spirit. It does not make Him happy to see anyone die. Start doing right and live!"

June 29:

Today's reading will cover Ezekiel Chapter 17. Today we will read about a parable God told Ezekiel about the kingdoms of Babylon, Judah, and Egypt. God will explain that although the king of Judah had been given power to remain in Judah he would be removed due to his failure to keep his promise to be faithful to Babylon. God, in contrast, would keep His promises: He would save a remnant of His people; He would carry the king of Judah off into exile to Babylon; Egypt would not save Judah or the king. We, like God, are to keep our promises that we make. If we are experiencing difficulty in doing so, then we should ask the Holy Spirit to comfort us and Jesus to strengthen us to keep us faithful in what we said we would do. We are made strong in Jesus when we are weak.

June 28:

Today's reading will cover Ezekiel Chapters 11:1-8, 16-25, 12:1-13, 16, and 16. Today we will read about God taking Ezekiel in the Spirit to Jerusalem to prophesy against the leaders there who were telling lies to God's people. We will hear God tell the people that He took care of the people like a baby no one wanted, and provided for her like a faithful husband, but the people trusted in their riches and forgot about Him, seeking other gods to worship unfaithfully. Through it all, we will see God's declarations of love and promise to forgive them after being disciplined. In our discussion for daily application we will talk about the fact that God disciplines those whom He loves. He loves His people. The purpose of discipline is to bring people to repentance. God will always forgive us. He wants to be our God and He wants us to be His people. There is nothing that can separate us from the love of God that is in Jesus! Even before Jesus, God's love for His people was always faithful, merciful, and unending, as we read today. There is nothing we can do that will stop God from loving us! No matter what you have done, turn back to God and continue walking with Him!

June 27:

Today's reading will cover Ezekiel Chapters 8-10.

June 26:

Today's reading covers Ezekiel Chapters 2-7

June 25:

Today's reading will cover Jeremiah Chapter 34:8-22 and Ezekiel Chapter 1. Today we will read about the people in Judah making a covenant with God to release their fellow Hebrew people that were being held as slaves and then breaking that covenant, changing their minds, and forcing the people back to being slaves. We will also read about an amazing image that Ezekiel saw about God in Heaven. God is described as having the appearance of a man, shining with glory, and having brightness surrounding Him, like a rainbow! We will read in Revelation chapters 4:2-3 and chapter 10:1 that these accounts of God are consistent with what Ezekiel saw. In our discussion for daily application we will talk about the fact that God appeared to be of human appearance and remember that in Genesis God tells us that He created us in HIS image. We are not created to look like aliens, nor are we descended from aliens. We will read Leviticus Chapter 25 about God's commandments pertaining to the Year of Jubilee and how people who sold themselves to be bond servants were meant to be treated as hired workers. Even then, their time as a bond servant was to be fulfilled after 7 years as well as in the year of Jubilee. In Leviticus 25 God is adamant that His people are HIS servants and are not to be taken as slaves and when people are working as hired workers they are not to be treated harshly. We will talk about the importance of keeping our promises to God as well as making sure we are treating others fairly, rather than harshly, especially those within the body of believers, in order to honor God's commands to us. We are to remember that everything we have belongs to GOD, including us!

June 24:

Today's reading will cover Jeremiah Chapters 23:25-32, 27:1-6 9-11, 28, 29:1-7, 10-13, 24-32, 50:11-12, 31-32 and 51:59-64. Today we will read about the battle of the prophets as we read about messages from God to Jeremiah and false messages from false prophets. As we have read this year, God does not take it lightly when His people are led astray and today is no different. We will read about consequences for the false prophets delivering false messages to God's people, intentionally leading them astray from God. In our discussion for daily application we will read the entire chapter of Matthew 24, where Jesus will advise us about wars, rumors of wars, and false prophets. We will talk about the fact that God knows the plans He has for us: plans for hope, and a good future for us. He alone appoints leaders to be in charge of nations and He alone will cause these things to occur at their appointed times. Our responsibility is to continue to do the good works that God has prepared in advance for us to do and to be found doing them at the time Jesus returns. We are not to be anxious about world events but be mindful of the signs He has told us to watch for in His Word. We are to trust in the fact that God is in control and He looks out for His chosen people, even during the great trouble of the end times of God's judgment, which will be cut short for the sake of God's chosen people. At a time that only God knows, He will call us up to Him. We are not to chase after false reports of Jesus' return or be led astray by false prophets. We are to seek and love God with all of our hearts and love others, persevering to the end, even though the love of most will grow cold. God knows the plans He has for us- plans for hope, and a good future. God is still in control today, as He was in Jeremiah's time. and everything will happen according to His will at His appointed times.

June 23:

Today's reading will cover 2 Kings Chapter 24:8-20, 2 Chronicles Chapter 36:16, Jeremiah Chapters 22:18-22, 22:24-30, 24, and Chapter 37:1-2. We will read about a succession of kings in Judah and the judgment that God will bring on them because of their disobedient ways. They and the remnant of the people left in Judah will be considered like a bowl of bad figs. We will read about God considering those taken into exile as being good, comparable to a bowl of very good figs, like figs that are first ripe. In our discussion for daily application we will talk about the parallel between the exiled people being already considered good, the same way that WE are considered good by God, because we are washed clean by Jesus' blood. God has written His Torah on our hearts and minds and sealed us with His Holy Spirit. He will plant us and gives us a heart to know Him. We are His people and He is our God!

June 22:

Today we will read Daniel Chapter 2. In today's reading the king will be given a dream by God and he will ask for something impossible- for someone to tell him what his dream was before telling him what it means. We will see Daniel go to God and request to be told what the dream was and for understanding of it, all the while acknowledging that it is God alone who knows these things. Daniel said that he was not wiser than anyone else, it was God's choice to reveal these things to him so that the king would know about the dreams that God had sent him. In our discussion for daily application we will talk about being sure to acknowledge that God is the one who imparts wisdom, opens our eyes, opens our ears, and chooses to whom He will impart wisdom and reveal hidden things. God used those events to move Daniel into the position He wanted Daniel to be in so that Daniel could do the good works God had prepared ahead of time for him to do. In the same way, God uses our circumstances, even when they look "bad" to move us into positions so that when the time comes we will be there, ready to do the good works God has prepared ahead of time for us to do.

June 21:

Today we will begin the book of Daniel, written by Daniel himself, and read Chapter 1. We will talk about some introduction to the book before we begin our reading today. The book of Daniel takes place beginning in the 3rd year of King Jehoiakim's reign, during the time of the Babylonian king, Nebuchadnezzar, taking the first set of captives from Judah. We will talk about God instructing the people ahead of time to go peacefully so that they would live and pray for things to go well wherever they went, because if things went well for the Babylonians, things would go well for them while THEY were there, too. We will discuss the purpose of the book of Daniel: to be encouragement to believers to be faithful and obedient to God in times of great trouble. In chapter one we will be introduced to Daniel, whose name is changed to Belteshazzar, and his three friends, whose names were changed to Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego. We will immediately see that when the young men are brought to the king's court to be trained in the ways of the Babylonians that God is clearly in charge of everything. When the young men request to not defile their bodies by eating the Babylonian delicacies and be allowed to eat only vegetables and drink water God worked in the heart of the man in charge so that he agreed to allow them ten days to make sure they did not look unhealthy as a result. We are told that God helped them all to learn, know, and understand all kinds of things and that God helped Daniel to understand all kinds of dreams so that at the end of their three years of training the king found that they were the wisest of any of the candidates, and ten times wiser than any of the kings magic men.

In our discussion for daily application we will talk about how our God, who is love, works everything for good. God positioned Daniel and his friends in the king's court. God prepared them to be able to do the good works that He had prepared for them ahead of time to do. In the same way, God prepares US for the good works that He has prepared ahead of time for US to do and He is placing US exactly where we are meant to be so that we will be exactly where we are supposed to be in order to do the good works God prepared for us. These TRUE stories are meant to encourage us to be faithful and obedient to God when things are difficult. Let us be encouraged and be strong in Jesus. God will equip us for everything we are meant to do. We only need to be obedient and faithful to Him to DO the things He has prepared us to do at the times He has placed us, just like Daniel and his friends.

June 20:

Today we will read in 2 Kings Chapter 24:1-7, 2 Chronicles Chapter 36:5-7, and Jeremiah Chapter 35:1-14, 18-19, Chapter 36, and Chapter 45. We will read about the obedience of the family of Recab and review 2 Kings Chapter 10 to understand that the family of Recab has always been faithful to God. In fact, what I forgot to mention in today's video, is that Recab is actually descended from the family of Moses' father-in-law, Jethro! God will contrast the obedience of this family to the nation of Judah, telling Judah to learn from this family's example and obey Him. We will also read about God telling Jeremiah to write down the words He tells Jeremiah to write within a Megillah Scroll and read it to the people and leaders of Judah. When King Jehoiakim hears the words he cuts them off from the scroll and burns them. In our discussion for daily application we will talk about God's design for leadership- to shepherd people, and how the kings of Judah were failing to shepherd God's people. We will talk about our own roles of leadership, whatever they may be, and the importance of leading people to God, wherever we are, by doing the good works He has prepared ahead of time for us to do. We will talk about the big picture of these daily lessons - they are tools in our "belt of truth" that we are to put on daily, bringing forth the lessons we learn as we encounter each good work God has prepared for us to do so that we can do the work God has given us well. If we do not know which tool to use that we have been given, we are encouraged to call upon God's Holy Spirit to teach us which tool we need to use in each particular circumstance we encounter, since the Holy Spirit is our teacher and will remind us of all we have been learning when we need to use what we have learned.

June 19:

Today's reading will cover Habakkuk Chapters 1-3. We will read about Habakkuk asking God how long it will be until God answers his cry for help against all the wrong doings going on in Judah. God answered him, saying that He would do things at the right time and they really would happen. In our discussion for daily application we will look at God's idea of time- things happening at the right time. We will look at verses from all over the Bible where God is clear that things are to happen at His appointed times. Even the demons, when being cast out by Jesus, were aware of God's appointed times in Matthew 8:29 when they asked Him if the was coming to torment them before the appointed time. We will look at John 7:6 where Jesus upheld this concept of time when He told his brothers that his time had not yet come. In our discussion for daily application we will talk about God having appointed times for everything, including the good works that He has prepared in advance for us to do, such as Esther, who was brought into a position of being queen for such a time so as to be able to speak for and save the Hebrew people. Let us ask God what works He has prepared in advance for us to do TODAY and EVERY DAY at their appointed times. Is there someone He brings into our path to speak to, encourage, point them to God? Is there someone we are in just the right position to help? Nothing happens by chance. God appoints us to do things in their proper times. We have free will. Let us choose to do the good works that God has prepared for us to do today and every day, for we were brought to where we are today, like Esther, for such a time as this.

June 18:

Today's reading will cover Jeremiah Chapters 22:13-17 and 26: 1-16, 2 Kings Chapters 23:31-37 and 2 Chronicles Chapters 35 and 36:1-5. Today we will read about King Josiah celebrating the Pass Over festival with the kingdom of Judah and providing the sheep and goats for the sacrifice. Then we will read about his death when he failed to obey God and instead got involved in a battle with Egypt, even though the king of Egypt told him that he would be killed if he got in the way of him obeying God by going to battle with Babylon. We will read about the ascension of Josiah's sons to be king of Judah and read about King Jehoiakim building riches while treating the people unfairly. God sent him a message through Jeramiah telling him that he needed to first obey God and do good, like his father had, and then he would also be provided with riches. We will read in Matthew 6:19-34 when Jesus taught not to seek after riches, which are here today and gone tomorrow, but to instead build treasure in Heaven, where moth and rust do not destroy and to seek God's Kingdom and His righteousness first and then everything else we need will be given to us, rather than chasing after things we think we need like people who do not believe in God. Our heavenly Father knows what we need before we even ask and provides for even the birds and flowers. How much more will He provide for us, His children?!

June 17:

Today's reading will cover Jeremiah Chapter 20, 2 Kings Chapters 22 and 23:1-20, 24, and 2 Chronicles Chapter 34:8-33.

June 16:

Today's reading will cover Jeremiah Chapter 7:1-11, 18-19, Chapter 13:1-11, 15-17, Chapter 18:1-8, 11-12, 15, 17-23, and Chapter 19:1-4, 10-11, and 14-15. Today we will read about the people continuing in their sin and yet claiming salvation, making God's house like a house of robbers. God contrasts this with how He intended His people to be: worshipers of God who tell others about Him. But the people have not listened. Despite their disobedience God reassures the people that He is still able to use them and make them into something good, the same way that a potter reshapes a pot that becomes disfigured while being made. The clay is not simply tossed back into a lump. Instead, the potter simply reshapes the clay as he sees best. In our discussion for daily application we will talk about how God can do the same with us. If we have fallen away from God or wandered from Him we do not need to feel that we can't still be useful to Him. Like the potter, God will reshape us and mold us into someone useful for Him. We are never returned to the pile of unformed clay, declared useless and without purpose. If you need help finding YOUR purpose in life, feel free to head over to my site and leave me a message. June 15:

Today's reading will cover Jeremiah Chapters 2-6. Today we will read about how God described the behavior of His people and how their behavior made Him feel. We will read about God feeling cheated upon by an unfaithful spouse. We will read about His heart hearting. We will read about How God longs for His people to return to Him, even one, that He might pardon the city. In our discussion for daily application we will once again talk about how important it is to know God, and in knowing His heart, to know what hurts Him so that we can avoid doing so. Our God is so faithful, kind, and loving to us. It is right that we should be faithful to Him, not turning away from Him or His kind love to worship other, false, gods or to turn to ourselves for provision or trust in people when God has shown us time and time again in our own lives how HE is the one who provides for us, especially in our times of need. Let us be faithful to our faithful, loving, kind God and avoid grieving Him and His Holy Spirit by remaining true to Him and His ways, loving Him with all of our hearts, minds, and souls. We are one with our God, made whole and complete in Him. Let us behave as such.

June 14:

Today our reading will cover Zephaniah Chapter 3:1-2, 8-20, 2 Chronicles Chapter 34:3-7, and Jeremiah Chapter 1:1-10, 13-19. We will read about God's impending judgment on Judah from nations to the north. In today's reading God explained that He would make the people's hearts and lips clean so that ALL people would would be able to call on His name and so serve God together! We will also read that King Josiah was a good king and that during his reign he got rid of idols, their alters, and their worship places. Lastly, we will read about God sending Jeremiah to be a prophet and that God knew and chose Jeremiah to be a prophet before he was even conceived! In our discussion for daily application we will talk about how God knew YOU and EVERY ONE OF US before we were conceived and had purpose in mind for us! We are all meant to do the work God chose for us to do before we were born. We are created to work TOGETHER as one in the body of Jesus. God has brought us His promised shalom- wellness and wholeness in unity with Him, the Holy Spirit, Jesus, and EACH OTHER! Let us joyfully serve together with purpose and in unity the way that God has designed us to do.

June 13:

Today our reading will cover 2 Kings Chapters 21:18-26, 22:1-2, and Chapter 23:25-27, Nahum Chapters 2:1-10 and 3:2-7, 19, and Zephaniah Chapters 1:1-9 and 2:3-10. We will read about King Manasseh's son becoming the next king of Judah who did not follow God and quickly being replaced by HIS son, Josiah, who followed God with all his heart, soul, and might, the way that Moses taught. We will read about God's plans for judgment on the city of Nineveh and the land of Moab because of their pride, practice of witchcraft, and the way way Moab spoke bad things about God's people and made fun of God's people. In our discussion for daily application we will talk about the importance of learning from the mistakes we see Judah and the other nations making, specifically not having a heart for God and making the right choice to be good examples of Jesus' love, being sure to speak well of and love God's people, our Jewish brethren, whether they are believers in Messiah or not. We will talk about how God brings timely opportunities into our lives to practice the daily applications that we are learning about, since it is impossible to learn how to do the right things in life simply by reading about them or hearing about them. We must practice how to behave in real life! As we are presented with real life opportunities to practice what God is teaching us here in this daily Bible reading event, I pray that the Holy Spirit, who teaches us all things, will remind us of these readings and that Jesus will help us to be strong in our obedience to live out the lessons we are learning today.

June 12:

Today we will be reading 2 Kings Chapters 19:36-37, 21:1-15, 2 Chronicles chapter 33, Nahum Chapters 1and 2:1. Today we will read about King Manasseh of Judah, who was King Hezekiah's son. We will read about him doing evil in the sight of the Lord by worshipping many idols, including the stars, practicing witchcraft, divination, sorcery, consulting with ghosts and spiritists and causing the people of Judah to follow after him, leading them astray. We will read about God sending the king of Assyria to come into Judah and take King Manasseh away to Babylon because of the people's disobedience to God. We will see that when King Manasseh prayed to God that God forgave him and brought him back home to Judah. In the Book of Nahum we will read about God's judgment for Nineveh, since they had returned to their sinful ways since the time of Jonah, approximately 100 years. Lastly, we will read another prophecy about the coming of Jesus- that he would be bringing good news of peace. In our discussion for daily application we will about about the importance of not following the evil ways of the world- practicing horoscope reading, playing Ouija Board, practicing witchcraft, consulting with psychics for our future, or worshiping false gods, such as Buddha. We will talk about the importance of being good witnesses for God and pointing people to God and Jesus rather than being bad examples and leading people astray. We will be reassured that nothing can separate us from the love of God that is in Jesus, just as nothing separated Manasseh from God's love. God still loved him and forgave him. Nothing we have done or will do can separate us from God's love. In the same way that Manasseh turned back to God, so too can WE turn back to God, no matter what. God will always forgive us when we come back to Him. It is important for us to be witnesses of God's love and forgiveness that we experience and share this good news with other people, as Paul tells us in Romans chapter 10:15.

Lastly, we will talk about the connection and consistency of today's reading with yesterday's reading. This version of the Bible is written chronologically. We are seeing that God was sending almost the same message through more than one prophet so that the people would be sure and know that He would be sending the good message of shalom to his people!

June 11:

Today's reading will cover Isaiah Chapters 65 and 66. We will read about God telling us that He will show who He is to people who don't ask for Him and that people who don't look for Him will find Him- that is the Gentiles! Today God will tell us another reason this will happen- because His people, the Israelites, don't care about Him. God tells us today that He is getting ready to come (again.) While He is getting ready He will get all nations together and they will see how great He is. God will send people to lands where the people have never heard about Him or seen His greatness and all people will come and bow down to Him. In our discussion for daily application we will talk about US being witnesses for God. WE have been called to tell people how great God is! We are who God spoke about in Isaiah so long ago! We will talk about how God uses EVERYTHING for good, even the disobedience of His Israelite children, so that WE would be grafted into God's beautiful olive tree! We will be admonished today, however, not to become arrogant and think that we are now God's only chosen people. We are called God's servants in today's reading, in the same way that Jesus told us He came to serve rather than to BE SERVED, and we are to do God's work that He has set out for us with a humble heart, caring about what He says rather than following our own ways.

June 10:

Today's reading will cover Isaiah Chapters 58-61. Today we will read about WHY God found it necessary to send us intercession- someone to go to God on our behalf- and who He would send. We will read that despite following rules about how to worship God and asking God for things the people were not worshipping God with their hearts. At the same time they were fasting they were treating each other poorly and misbehaving. God explained that this was not the intention of things such as fasting. God noticed that no one was interceding for His people on their behalf- such as the the way that Abraham had done for his nephew Lot, the way Moses had done for the people, or the way Elijah had done for Israel. Since no one was interceding for the people God would do it himself. He sent us Jesus to intercede for our sins and He sent us the Holy Spirit to intercede for us in our weakness, when we don't know how to pray as we should. Romans 8:26-27 tells us that God knows the mind of the Holy Spirit and that the Holy Spirit intercedes for us with groans too deep for words for ALL of us, according to the will of God! God's tells us today that when He would give us the Holy Spirit it would never leave us and it would be for everyone, rather than as before that time the Spirit of God would come upon people and leave people as God chose. Now we would have the Holy Spirit FOREVER! God's gifts that He has bestowed upon us are so much greater than we understand. Let us do our best to learn about the gifts that God has given us and USE them the way He intended, instead of just putting them on a shelf, not understanding or using them, like a gift we don't think we need or know how to use but accept and acknowledge that we have received.

June 9:

Today's reading will cover Isaiah Chapters 55-57. Today we will read about God's forgiveness of sins being free for everyone who turns to Him. We will read that the gift of salvation comes with joy and shalom, and that without His gift of salvation there is no shalom. There is no shalom for those who choose to continue living in sin rather than entering into God's covenant of shalom. We will talk about shalom being like a gift that we have received and simply don't know what to do with so we keep it in the closet or on a shelf, unused. In order to be able to USE this gift that we have been given we need to understand it, so we will talk about the meaning of the word shalom and learn that it is SOO much more in depth than the English word peace. It conveys being WELL, WHOLENESS. Today we will read that God promised to make people WELL. This will build upon yesterday's reading that God will send His Holy Spirit to be within us when we become believers. We learned yesterday that we are one with Jesus, God, and the Holy Spirit. Today we will make the connection that this oneness brings us HEALING, WHOLENESS, the essence of SHALOM. Today we will be reminded that Isaiah tells us that Jesus will be called the Prince of Shalom. The book of Ezekiel tells us that God will cut a covenant of shalom with us. Jesus' blood is the blood of the covenant of shalom that God has made with us. Jesus, when He left, left us with his shalom. The Prince of Shalom has given us HIS shalom! And John 14 tells us that we are to freely give what we have received. Today and every day let us deliberately USE our gift of shalom. Let us also give our shalom to others. It is the gift that keeps on giving.

June 8:

Today's reading will cover Isaiah Chapters 50, 52:7-10, 53, and 54:1,4, 7-10, and 13. Today we will read about Jesus and some of what he would experience as he paid the price for our sins. We will read about God's promise to care for us with His kindness, which lasts forever and be encouraged to be joyful for this great gift He has given to us. We will also read about Jesus being taught by God and God's promise to personally teach us and give us great peace. In our discussion for daily application we will read John 14: 15-27. In these verses Jesus tells us that when he speaks he is speaking God's words and we also will be given the Holy Spirit to teach us and speak through us! Jesus explains that He is in the Father, the Father is in him, he is in us, and the Holy Spirit is in us. We are all one with the Father! Additionally, Jesus tells us he left us with his peace (shalom), which is exactly what God promised in today's reading, Isaiah Chapter 54:13! We will also read Matthew 10:18-20, which tells us that when we need to speak to people about God we do not need to be afraid or concerned about what to say because the Holy Spirit will speak through us! We will read 1 Corinthians 2:6-16 which is written by Paul, explaining that we have received the Spirit of God, not the spirit of the world, so only those with the Spirit of God can understand what the Spirit teaches. The world will consider the teachings of the Holy Spirit to be foolishness. We have been given the Spirit to understand the things freely given to us by God and we speak to each other about spiritual things taught to us by the spirit for other people who ALSO have God's Spirit. Paul reminds us that WE have the mind of Jesus! So what can we do with this amazing gift and relationship that we have with God, Jesus, and the Holy Spirit? Literally EVERYTHING! We can do ALL THINGS through Christ! NOTHING is impossible! Talk to God and ask Him what He wants you to know. LISTEN to what the Holy Spirit teaches you and then obey! You have the mind of Jesus, who is in the Father and the Father is in Him and Jesus is in YOU! We are ONE WITH GOD! You can do it. The Holy Spirit will teach you how.

June 7:

Today's reading will cover Isaiah Chapters 45:9-13, 20, 22-25, 46:3-4, 47:5-15, 48:1-7, 9-11, 17-18, 22, 49:1-6, 13-16. Today we will read about God asserting His right as our creator to do with His creation as He chooses. And guess what? He has chosen to take care of us since the time He first created us! God alone teaches us what is best for us and shows us the way to go. He alone saves people and invites EVERYONE to come to Him to be saved. He assured us many times today that He not only made us but He will always take care of us, from the time we are born until the time we are old and gray. In our discussion for daily application we will talk about how much God loves YOU! God will never forget you. He will always remember you and care for you. Jesus also told us that He will never leave you or forsake you. Jesus is with us always, even to the end of time! God wishes for ALL people to come to Him, not just the Israelite people. God sent Jesus to be a light for ALL the world! If you don't know Jesus already, come to Him today! God loves you!

June 6:

Today our reading will cover Isaiah Chapters 42:1-13, 43:1-7, 10-13, 25, and 44:6, 9-28. Today we will have the pleasure of reading about God telling us about Jesus! We will also read a very personal message to Jesus from God, written over 700 years before Jesus would ever read it! Today God will tell us many things: He is the ONE and ONLY God who exists, He created us to show how great He is, He loves us, we are special to Him, He named us, He alone will save us from our sins, and WE are to be His witnesses regarding these things! In our discussion for daily application we will talk about what being a witness means, what a witness does, and why it is so important for us to share our experiences of what God has done for us and through us with others.

June 5:

Today's reading will cover 2 Kings Chapter 20:12-20, 2 Chronicles Chapter 32:27-33, Isaiah Chapters 40 and 41:8-16. Today we will read about the end of Hezekiah's reign as king of Judah and how he showed all of his riches to Babylon. We will read Isaiah tell Hezekiah that Babylon will one day take all of Judah's riches and some of Hezekiah's family. Most importantly, we will be reading and learning about who God is today! God delights in us knowing who He is. Just like we enjoy someone knowing who WE are and doing something for us just the way we like it or bringing food the way we like it prepared, God delights in us knowing who He is and doing things the way HE likes them to be done! Today we will learn that God's Word will last forever. He is not like people, who are as temporary as grass or flowers. God (and Jesus!) are like a shepherd taking care of his sheep. Jesus himself told us that HE is that good shepherd! He holds little lambs in his arms and carefully leads mothers who have children (sheep who have babies.) God is CAREFUL with us. There is no other like God! Who taught Him to be who He is? No one. No one will ever know just HOW MUCH He understands! God never gets tired. He never sleeps or takes naps or misses anything that happens. He knows everything that happens. He sees everything, even YOU, right here reading this description. God holds our right hand and tells us not be scared; He will help us Himself. He will save us. He is our Holy One. And guess what? YOU will have His joy! His great power will shine in YOU with His Holy Spirit!

June 4:

Today's reading comes to us from 2 Kings Chapter 19 and 20:1-11 and Isaiah Chapter 37 and 38:1-20. Today we will read about King Hezekiah of Judah praying to God and asking Him to defend His holy name against the insults of the king of Assyria. We will hear about God's answer, that because King Hezekiah prayed to God, God will send the rude and lying king back to his own country and that He will defend His people. God then sent His Angel (Jesus!) to kill 185,000 army men of Assyria! God is so awesome!!! We will then see King Hezekiah facing terminal illness and Isaiah telling him that God has said Hezekiah will die. We will see King Hezekiah pray to God, asking God to remember that he has always tried to do what is right. God answered Hezekiah's prayer and sent Isaiah back to Hezekiah to deliver the message as well as a sign- God would turn back the clock by 10 hours, at Hezekiah's choice. We will see Hezekiah giving glory to God for healing him and in his wisdom giving glory to God for allowing him to go through the experience, since going through the trouble was for Hezekiah's benefit! In our discussion for daily application we will talk about God letting us go through our own troubles for our own benefit, as well, and that God wants us to come to Him to ask Him for His help. It was because Hezekiah prayed that God granted his requests. We need to be sure and take EVERYTHING to the Lord in prayer and look at the troubles we are going through with a positive eye, acknowledging that God is going to work good into everything, even though it looks bad. Our God is so loving, gracious, kind, and giving. He wants us to come to Him. How many times have we missed out on God answering a prayer because we simply did pray? Let's bring everything to God! He WANTS us to!

June 3:

Today's reading comes to us from 2 Kings Chapter 18:13-37; 2 Chronicles 32:1-9, and Isaiah Chapter 36. Today we will read about the Assyrians trying to take over Judah. We will see King Hezekiah first try to pay them to keep them from attacking, but the Assyrians just took the payment and came back anyway. Then we will see King Hezekiah look to God and the Assyrian leaders trying to use scare tactics to discourage the people of Judah and try to scare them into surrendering. In our discussion for daily application we will talk about standing firm in what we believe and not letting the enemy discourage us from having faith in God. We will also talk about how one of the tactics of our enemy is to distort the truth, such as the Assyrian leaders did by claiming that God told them to get rid of their land. It was true that God said the Assyrians would come in and take possession of the land, but God has been abundantly clear that He will preserve a remnant of people and that a king from David's throne will once again reign. We will talk about Jesus' teaching that no one can add a day to their lives by worrying, and that despite things looking grim or improbable, we need to have faith in God and trust in Him, standing firm in what we believe.

June 2, 2025:

Hi everyone! Shavuot is on June 2 in 2025 and I have included an educational video on why Christians should observe/celebrate. It is located below today's regularly scheduled reading.

Today we will read 2 Kings Chapter 17. We will read about nation of Israel being taken over by Assyria and taken away as captives. We will read that God tried very hard to get His people to stop doing wrong and worshipping idols but their hearts were hard and they did not obey. In our discussion for daily application we will read from Hebrews and Revelation to see that even though we are forgiven for our sins God still has expectations for us. We are not to continue to live in sin or it will have the effect of hardening our hearts, the same way the Israelites' hearts were hardened by their continuous sin. We will read in Revelation that God still takes worship of false gods seriously and that we are not to worship false gods such as Buddha, or Hinduism or look to the stars for our horoscopes to know the future. We are called to be holy, set apart from the world and be God's people. God disciplines those whom He loves, and He loves us, so He WILL discipline us if we are disobedient to Him, just like we read about today.

June 2, 2025- Shavuot!!

Please note: There are TWO parts for the information on Shavuot. My internet cut out and I was not able to merge the two videos together because the first video exceeded my limitations for my free video editing software. The conclusion video is just an ending for the first video, due to the abrupt ending. Thank you for understanding. I hope you enjoy learning about Shavuot!

June 1:

Thank you for joining me as we learn about the connection between Passover, First Fruits, Shavuot (pronounced shav-oo-oat) and Pentecost. We are on the 49th day of the counting of the omer!!! Shavuot is tomorrow and I am encouraging EVERYONE to take the day off from work and observe the day as God commanded- a Sabbath day. God gifts us with an extra day of rest! How gracious is our God?! I don't know about YOU, but I can sure use another day of rest this week!

Today we will read in the Book of Isaiah, Chapters 29:13-21, Chapter 30:1-7, 15-24, Chapter 33:2-6, 10, 17, 20-21, and 24, and Chapter 35. We will read about God being disappointed in the His people worshipping Him with their mouths, but not their hearts. We will read prophecy about Jesus- how people would see the beautiful King with their own eyes and how God would forgive people's sins. We will be encouraged to tell others not to be afraid, because God will save them. We will be given a glimpse into the beautiful Heaven with a road that only those saved by God will be able to travel. In our discussion for daily application we will talk about worshipping God with our hearts, rather than just with our mouths. It is important that we are following and loving God with our whole hearts, not just following man made rules and thinking that makes God happy. God tells us today to stop doing wrong. Start doing what is right. Be quiet and trust in Him. Rest. That is what will make us strong. God wants us to look forward to the day of rest He has gifted us with. He leads us by His own examples, showing us that He will provide enough for us to last on the day of rest, such as when He provided manna from heaven for six days and none on the seventh. The people were to gather enough on the sixth day to last them for the next day. On the sixth day God sent EXTRA manna to provide for them. Only on the sixth day would manna that was gathered for storing for use on the next day keep fresh and not rot. All other days any extra manna gathered would rot! God was teaching His people to trust in Him for daily provision as well as provision for the Sabbath day. It is important that we observe God's days of rest for us. Shavuot is tomorrow and it is given to us as an extra day of rest! Let's honor and respect God's gift by observing it.
